Master Bathroom Refresh: The Reveal
We've finished the bathroom!
This was more of just a spruce up with mostly cosmetic changes so we took our time and hacked away here and there over a few weeks and I must say, I am pretty happy with how it turned out!
The wood we used is actually flooring from a friends house that he let us haul away for free (big bonus). Since its older wood, it did make it difficult to work with because it was warped or uneven. In the end, we decided to embrace the imperfections because it only adds more character to our home. Plus, I love being able to have a story and history behind the skinny lap wall.
I chose to do black and white in the master to mirror our black and white kitchen and give our house a more cohesive feel without being too matchy-matchy and having identical bathrooms.
For storage and towel hanging, we built an all-in-one hooks/shelf out of iron pipes and wood from Lowe's. It was Taylor's idea and I love the one of a kind piece it turned out to be!
Here are the before, during and after pictures!
What's to come
I know I may sound slightly crazy, but there is one last thing I want to do to the bathroom in a month or so... We struggle so much with storage (because there is literally zero built into the space originally) and have a small linen cabinet that we currently use in here for all my hair products and other bathroom essentials. I am wanting to replace the cabinet with some open shelves instead! Even though this was only a "small" project, my head contractor (aka Taylor) wants to take a break before doing the shelving. I am generous person, so I'll give him a little R&R and celebrate the accomplishments we have already made for now! ;)
