So if you are anything like me, you have been thinking "Valentine's day is overrated, we don't have to do anything" and then you wake up today and think, "but...now I want to do something for him!"
Well, here are some last minute plans you can throw together to make your love feel special today, because that is really what it's all about!
1. Make his favorite dinner (and throw in a few candles). Even if you make dinner every night, making something you know he loves will always bring a smile to his face. Plus a few candles & maybe even some music makes the evening feel special.
2. Bake something together (that's not from a box). Taylor & I hardly ever bake anything anymore (partially because we both want to be healthier) but today is a day you can break the rules a bit. When we were dating, it was always so fun to kick our parents & siblings out of the kitchen and "play house" by baking something together! Bring that fun back today!
3. Write him a love letter. I used to write Taylor cute notes all the time & visa versa, but then life got in the way; I totally understand. Well today is your chance to tell him all the things he already knows, but hearing them (or reading them) is so nice sometimes!
4. Build a fort & watch a movie. Sometimes its fun to just act like a kid again and see your spouse let loose and laugh! If you have an analytical husband like me, building a fort will get his creative juices flowing. Then once the most ideal fort is build, you'll get to spend the night snuggled up with your honey, away from the worries of dirty dishes and taxes.
5. Give him a back rub. Even simple things like this show him you care. Taylor loves back rubs but I don't love giving them (my hands start to hurt!) so this one would definitely speak his language and let him know that I am I trying to make today about him.
6. Do whatever he loves to do the most! All of these ideas are things that I know Taylor would enjoy doing, so do whatever your Valentine likes to do! It shows that you really know them & care about the things they care about.
It's not about how fancy the dinner is or how expensive the gift is, Valentine's Day is about showing that special someone how special they really are to you!
