You guys. I did terrible at blogging this week. Things just seemed to have picked up at work & at home. So here is an update for you all before we get to my favorites this week!
I have been feeling discouraged because it seems like we have gotten nowhere with our kitchen remodel lately, BUT yesterday I finally feel like we hit a turning point. My husband has been working tirelessly after work all this week to get our lights finished in the kitchen so that we can have power in there again & he finally finished them! Now, I just need to patch the holes from the old ones & that can be completely checked off our list. I'll update with pictures this weekend (hopefully)!!
Even more exciting than that, (I know, I know, you're thinking, how? How could anything be more exciting than THAT!). WE ARE GOING TO IKEA TOMORROW TO PICK OUT OUR CABINETS! If you can't tell, I am SO excited! We have a long way to go before our kitchen will be ready for the cabinets to be installed but Ikea is having a kitchen sale that ends on the 20th so we are running out of time to go. I don't think I'll be able to sleep tonight!
Now, onto my favorite things this week--paint colors to inspire a weekend refresh!
1. MINDFUL GRAY, SHERWIN WILLIAMS

I may be biased because I have this color in my house, but I think it's one of the best gray paints out there. It's not too dark & when it's up on the wall it looks like a true gray. My biggest fear when painting our home in gray's was that it would end up looking blue. This one was one of the winners! Along with its slightly lighter sister (on the same paint swatch) Repurpose Gray. They give our home a fresh clean & bright feeling and give us a blank template to start with without the whole house being white.
2. GENTLEMAN'S GRAY, BENJAMIN MOORE

If you are looking to jump on this amazing trend of inky blueish greens, now is your chance. While I have never used this exact color, it's very similar to the hue we just put in our bathroom & I gotta say, I love the way it feels! I am so tempted to use it in other places in our home but our house is naturally dark so I want to keep as much lightness on the walls as possible. If you have a well lite house naturally, there is no reason to fear this color!
3. CHANTILLY LACE, BENJAMIN MOORE

Everyone is in need of a good white paint so here is one I love the hue of. It doesn't have an overly sterile feel but won't leave your walls too yellow-y.
4. OLIVE GROVE, JOANNA GAINES

I love Joanna Gaines & all her paint colors but I am always a sucker for a good army greenish color. She nailed it on this one!
