For fun, casual Friday posts I am starting #favoritethingsfriday where I will post a list of some of my favorite things right now! It might be sales going on, furniture or shops I'm digging, or other bloggers I'm secretly (or not so secretly) in love with.
This week my #favoritethings are places I love & that are some of my go-to's when looking for something new to fill our home with! To preface, I am a bit of a bargain shopper with some piece, but I like to splurge in some areas, so most of these places are places that always have great deals going on.
1. Wayfair. Wayfair is almost always the first place I look when I am trying to find something for the home. They have high quality, unique items but at a discount from most other places. A few of my favorites to find here are rugs & lighting (ok maybe those are just my favorite things to shop for anywhere!).
We bought this cutie rug for our bathroom from Wayfair for just $20 and our dining room light fixture from there for $60! Both total steals! We love the way they look in our home & how they show off our style!
2. Overstock.com. Similar to Wayfair but usually more on the less expensive side. If you found a piece you love but the price tag is just not working for ya, search for it on Overstock! They have a ton of things you find in other stores for less. It's like magic & I love it.
We knew we wanted a cool leather sofa for our living room for two reasons. One, we like to mix in some more masculine pieces so my husband feels comfortable saying he lives here. Two, because of our dog who may or may not be allowed on the couch... I plead the fifth. So we wanted something more durable than a fabric couch that wouldn't stain & was easy to clean. Plus that would look even better, in my opinion, as it got worn in a bit.
We fell in love with one from West Elm but the $2500+ price tag was just not going to happen. I did some searching & a lot of research and ended up buying this one from Overstock.com for about half the price (we purchased on Cyber Monday so it was even less than it is currently listed as)! We love it & it seems to be holding up well (we've had it for about a year now). It's not the exact one from West Elm but was very similar in design.
If you are going to "buy blind" like I did, especially on such a big item, do a lot of research before purchase & try to find customer photos. Those, in my opinion, are the best way to tell what it will really look like when you get it. Common sense tip: look into the return policy!
3. H&M. I haven't yet purchased any home decor from H&M but I am sure that streak won't last long! Some people might even be surprised to hear that H&M has a home goods selection, but they do & it's awesome. What I am usually drawn to here are their bedding & rugs. While they don't have many large area rugs, they have great deals on runners & smaller space rugs in cool geometric patterns. Plus if you are looking for basic bedding piece like duvets, they have a ton of standard colors that you can dress up any way you like!
4. Floor & Decor. If you are doing any sort of tiling work, you must look at Floor & Decor. We have saved so much purchasing all of our tile from here! The flooring in our master bathroom & the tile surround in our guest bath were both from here & so will the tile for our kitchen remodel (coming soon!). It's the same quality as we would find anywhere else but much cheaper; No reason to spend more for the exact same thing!
